What a cookie file is

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return to the same site, the browser sends that file back, which lets the site remember something about your last visit — for example that you already dismissed a notice, that you chose a language, or that you are partway through a form. A cookie is not a program. It cannot run code, it cannot read other files on your device, and it cannot install anything.

Cookies are one of several browser storage methods. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which hold data inside the browser rather than sending it with every request. Where this policy says "cookie", it covers those equivalents too, because from your point of view the choice is the same: something is being kept on your device.

trueascent.info is an educational resource about natural supplements and vitamins for men. It is not an online shop and it does not run a checkout, so we do not use cookies to process payments or to recover an abandoned basket.

Readable

You can open a cookie file in a plain text editor and read every line. There is no hidden content inside it.

Scoped

A cookie set by this site is normally sent back only to this site. Another website cannot read it.

Temporary or lasting

Session cookies disappear when you close the browser; persistent cookies stay until their expiry date or until you delete them.

Which cookies this site uses

We keep the list short and we avoid anything that is not doing a job. Each row below names the category, what it does on this site, and how long it normally stays on your device. Where a category is optional, it is switched on only if you allow it through the consent control.

Strictly necessary

Always on

Keeps the site working and remembers your cookie choice so the notice does not reappear on every page.

Up to 12 months

Preference

Optional

Remembers small choices such as text size or whether you prefer a compact view of the comparison pages.

Up to 6 months

Statistics

Optional

Counts visits in an aggregated form so we can see which guide pages answer reader questions and which ones need rewriting.

Up to 24 months

Advertising

Optional

Used only if you allow it, to measure whether a paid placement on a search engine led a visitor to the right guide page.

Up to 13 months

Lifetimes are the usual maximums from the provider side. You can delete any of them earlier from your browser at any time, and the site will carry on working without them.

How to manage your choice

You decide what stays. There are two places to act: the consent control on this site, and the privacy settings inside your browser. Using one does not stop the other from working, and neither path blocks you from reading any page here.

On this site

Change or withdraw consent

The cookie notice shown when you first arrive records your answer. You can reopen it and switch optional categories off again at any time; the change takes effect on the next page you load. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything that happened before you withdrew it.

If the notice does not reappear after you clear your browser storage, that is expected: clearing storage also clears the record of your earlier answer, so you will be asked again.

In your browser

Block, list and delete

Every current browser has a section for site data where stored cookies are listed by the site that set them. From there you can delete individual entries, block a site from storing new ones, or set the browser to clear everything when it closes.

Blocking all storage may mean the site forgets your preferences and shows the notice again on each visit. It will not stop you reading the ingredient guide, the product comparisons, or any wellness article.

Third parties and what they can see

Some of the tools we use to keep the site running sit outside our own hosting. On this page they are limited to two roles: measuring anonymous traffic if you allow statistics, and counting clicks from paid search results if you allow advertising.

A third-party cookie is set and read by that provider under its own policy, not ours. We choose providers that support consent signals and we do not pass on your name, email address, or anything you write to us by email in a cookie.

What we never store in a cookie

Your name, your email address, your phone number, any message you send us, and any health detail you choose to share.

What statistics may record

Which pages were opened, roughly where the visit came from, the device type, and how long a page was on screen — grouped, not tied to a named person.

What advertising may record

That a visit followed a paid search link, so we can judge whether that placement reaches readers looking for supplement information.

What we do with the numbers

Decide which guides to expand and which to retire. Reports are read in aggregate; we do not build profiles of individual visitors.

Questions about cookies

These are the questions readers send us most often about storage on this site. If yours is not here, the contact details at the foot of the page reach a person during working hours.

Do I have to accept cookies to read this site?

No. Every page, including the ingredient guide and the product comparisons, opens with optional categories switched off. Only the strictly necessary cookies are used to keep the site working and to remember your answer.

Does the cookie notice record anything about my health?

No. The record is limited to which categories you allowed and when. Pages you read are counted in aggregate if you permit statistics, but nothing labels those pages with your identity, and we do not treat any cookie as health information.

Can I change my mind later?

Yes, as often as you like. Reopen the consent control and switch categories off; the site reads the new setting the next time a page loads. You can also delete stored cookies from your browser without telling us.

Why does the notice appear again after I clear my browser data?

Because clearing site data removes the file that held your earlier answer. With no record left, the site has to ask once more. Answer it the same way and it will stay quiet again.

Do these cookies follow me to other websites?

The cookies set directly by this site are not used to follow you elsewhere. The advertising category, if you allow it, is the only one that may recognise a later visit so we can measure whether a search placement worked.

Changes to this policy and how to reach us

If we add a category of cookie, or a provider changes a lifetime beyond the maximums listed above, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it.

Material changes are not applied silently, and we do not remove a category from this list while continuing to use it.
